Trying to Make ‘Womb Transplant’ Affordable For All the Women – Dr. Shailesh Puntambekar

“World’s first womb transplant through Laparoscopic technique has been successfully performed in Pune’s Galaxy Care Hospital. The expense for this surgery touched Rs.50 Lakhs. However, we are trying to make this surgery affordable for all the women who are in need of a womb transplant”, said internationally acclaimed robotics Caner surgeon Dr. Shailesh Puntambekar.

“We performed two back-to-back successful womb transplant on 18th and 19th May. Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadanvis and Health Minister Deepak Savant supported us to make it a successful attempt. In future, we are trying to make this rare surgery available and affordable for all the women who are in need of womb transplant with the help of administration and well-known trustees.”
